Inverted Play/Pause icon in the status bar

Post by LittleBiG »

I have this setting:

When I hold the right mouse button on the file icon to start an audio preview (because of the settings it keeps playing after releasing the mouse button) the appearing slider in the status bar has inverted Play/Pause icon. During playing it shows the play, during the pause it shows the pause icon. It should be the other way around.

Well, IMO it's debatable. I see this button as reflecting the current state, not the state that will be entered when you press it. I find it natural as it is now.

Just another opinion, but most media players do have that button reflect what happens when you press the button, as oppose to the current state of play/pause. Right click an MP3 and choose Windows Media Player and you 'll see that the music starts right away and the button is showing the pause symbol. If you then press the button it doesn't reflect that it's paused, it reflects what happens when you press it again, "Play". :)

I am sorry but it is not debatable. Even if you feel it natural, this is not the way how ANY media player work. If I open the Preview Pane, the problem is more emphasized. The song is paused on both part.
