Drag Status Box

Post by m48tx »

18.80.0017 Warp speed scroll now running on normal impulse engine. Thanks.

However, to be really picky ... when pointing at the bottom of the tree the drag box disappears behind the task bar (bottom border of XY at top of taskbar). At top of tree, drag box is below the cursor. At bottom of tree, drag box should be above the cursor. :)

Sure, how could I forget! Also at the right screen border, it should move to the left side of the mouse. Stupid bug. Good I post-poned the release to tomorrow!

Thanks!

18.80.0018:
Don, just in case you are striving to absolute nirvana perfection, check this:

Select a few items in the list and start dragging them (and press ctrl for copying, to get the box) in the middle of the screen/window to the right border, until the box switches to the left of the cursor. Now continue slowly dragging downwards until it switches to the above of the cursor too. From that moment on, the boxes is not deleted properly and kind of multiplies itself (at my place). With a further drag towards the top (and some other directions too) this all disappears soon (as well as with esc) and everything is well again.

Not that I care for this cosmetic issue at all, but just wanted to report, what I experienced.

Can't see that here. Maybe you have another XYplorer below the current one?

Not sure if this is the same as Borut's report, but once I had the box remain on the screen after the move operation was complete. Closing XY did not remove the box. I used F5 to refresh the desktop window and the box disappeared. But as I said, this happened only once and it was an earlier version, not the recent.

BTW, I love the drag box. A really, really nice addition to XY. (And the vertical grid lines are     )

I run strictly only one XYplorer instance at a time. It happens at my place also with fresh. It apparently starts happening when the bottom box border (box already being left of cursor) touches the upper task bar border and switches above the cursor (i.e. left & above). Meanwhile I have seen a similar thing near the left bottom screen corner (over the tree). It is a kind of a flickering state, even when one does not move the mouse anymore.

I have however not seen the issue described above by m48tx.

:eh: I would set the taskbar not to retract. Then perhaps leave only one monitor (in case there are more than one). Then set XY to full screen. Then out of ideas :|

Neither can I on my other (64bit) system. Maybe it depends on a graphics card or something... No idea, but in any case, this should be no show stopper for you. Apparently no one else has seen this and even I not everywhere.

I have two computers, both with Win10 x64. One is flickering like hell in the bottom right corner, even standing in place. Probably the same what was described by Borut. It is ugly. But the box on the other is rock solid. Weird.

I can't seem to make it happen either using 18.80.0020.
I've tried placing XYPlorer's window a few cm below the taskbar so I could touch it with the tooltip but it still behaved as expected for me.
I've also tried with the taskbar auto hiding on/off.
