File copying indication - Tooltip

Post by highend »

v18.80.0005, fresh instance

Select one item and drag it to a different tab. The tooltip after hitting the different tab states:
Copy 1 item to:
<path>

When the different tab is switched to (1000 ms by default), the tooltip loses the number of items
and states:
Copy item(s) to:
<path>

Additionally, try this:
Select one item, drag it onto a different tab, wait for the autoswitch and then drag it into the
pane and hit escape. The tooltip won't vanish but stay on screen

I drag and drop on a lot of batch files, and once the batch file has launched the popup stays visible until clicked away saying
"Copy to blahblah.bat" it is the same for D&D on rar, xys etc too, just thought I would let you know.

Don, that's the same issue I reported on "An Indication for files copied" thread here.
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18554#p156998 It also happens dragging files to the tree.

You maybe have this ticked?

Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | Use standard shell drag and drop

Should be fixed in next version.

Yeah I do, I can't remember the reason at the moment but I needed it ticked for some interaction in the past, I'll leave it unchecked for now and see if anything arises.

In my experience with .0006 under Win7 32bit, when an Attachment is dragged and dropped from Outlook (for instance) into a File List of XY, then the box goes away only after being hovered with a cursor.

Otherwise I can confirm the positive findings already communicated. And yes, it is a cool little thing! :tup:

Could only half-repro this, but probably it's fixed in next version.

Glad to hear it could be fixed in the next beta. Windows 10 (1709) x64, same issue here as well. After dropping the file, I can draw circles around the popup and it stays put until I hover over it. It immediately disappears once the mouse cursor touches it.

This is a really cool feature. I spent most of my morning dragging everything from everywhere :biggrin:. It amazes me what you are able to achieve with XY.

.0007: The icon is a very nice idea. However, my impression is that the icon is correct only on the very first tree level. (The other issue - dragging from other applications - I will check later.)

Hm, nothing wrong with the icon here. On any level. :?

What do you mean by "very first tree level"?
