Behavior reproduced. On reboot, shows clean. Only single column showing. No anti-v or everything. Go up a folder, then down (double click whitespace), then shows XY lock with lockhunter on focus. Every time.

Turned off all extra windows and panes, toolbars. Exit save. Nothing selected. Now restarting and showing XY lock without moving. No other tabs with this drive selected.

*sigh*

XYplorer.exe /fresh

is clean.

How best to troubleshoot, highend?

I obviously like my settings.

Sorry for all the posts.

If there's a good link, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise another thread on "How to Troubleshoot an Installation while Saving as Many Settings as Possible" might be appropriate.

There is only one way:
Document all your configuration changes + tweaks you've set

That's what I'm doing here

What about any invisible columns?

Check here:

Found it. It's a bug with:

Audio Preview: Play when info panel is hidden

If that is off, there isn't a problem with an .mp4,, .mp3, or a flac. If it's on, LockHunter shows it's locked by XY.

On my machine it's exceedingly repeatable.

(Turned off everything remotely file-type specific until it ran clean. Started turning things back on. Still clean. Then did a diff between the dirty .ini and the clean .ini and came up with that.)

The .mp4 file also gets locked if the preview pane is open.

Would dearly appreciate someone else checking that soon.

(Gads, sorry for all the fuss. That thing with passing media files to another program to find one locked was really bugging me. Hope this has solved it.)

Yep, that explains it, indeed. I only wonder: Don't you hear any sound going on...? :)

Fix coming.
