Microsoft Word properties don't display

Post by k7kel »

Hi folks, I created a custom column for Word docs to show the word count, but XYplorer doesn't seem to recognize any of the extended Word properties (right-click -> Properties -> Details). I can upload screen shots for comparison if that would be helpful.

Details: Office 365, Windows 10, current version of XPlorer.

Thanks,

Patrick

I assume Word only installed the 64-bit shell extensions. This is not enough for 32-bit applications. We need the 32-bit ones.

Unfortunately I cannot help you on with that. The Microsoft Office world is a strange place where things just work differently (or not at all).

Maybe anybody here has found a way to make this work?

What happens if these documents are saved in .doc (and not .docx) format, does the behavior change?

Hi folks, I have the 32-bit Click-to-run version of Office 365 installed. And sorry, but saving as a .doc instead of a .docx isn't a viable option for me.

Here is a way to find out which 32-bit handler is responsible for Microsoft Word properties:
