Re: click and search: exclude location
the /excl= switch doesn't work in location field so it is a wish
Re: click and search: exclude location
you're right but if the search pattern itself is a switch this won't work
maybe this is an excessive request so thank you anyways

Code: Select all
/types={:Video}
Re: click and search: exclude location
Mh?
Start dir: R:\test
Files:
R:\test\1\1.avi
R:\test\2\2.avi
R:\test\3\3.avi
Location for the search category: /excl=R:\test\2
Search pattern for the item: /types={:Video}
Result:
R:\test\1\1.avi
R:\test\3\3.avi
What am I missing here?

Re: click and search: exclude location
I cannot reproduce this when I click the "Video" item in the Catalog: Items are filtered by /types={:Video} as expected.
However, when I check the "Video" item in the Catalog then the /types switch is ignored. This might be unexpected at first sight, but it makes sense since this way a Boolean combination of all checked items in the category is used for the search, and individual item switches have to be ignored here.
So IMO it's alright as it is.

Re: click and search: exclude location
I can reproduce that behavior with the current beta
If the search category uses an /excl=<some path>
switch in the Location, than clicking (and not checking it)
on the item (with e.g. Pattern: /types={:Video})
leads to a result that includes everything, not only
the relevant types.
If the /excl=<some path> is removed from the category,
the quick search works as expected when clicked

Re: click and search: exclude location
Confirmed.
This is obviously done on purpose on the code (if the category has any switches, then drop any item switches), but unfortunately and untypically I did not make any comment on why I did it like this. :\
I will change it now.
