XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
It's a separate application (XYcopy.exe) that does the copying...

Another video to add to this issue that is quite crippling:
For me, it seems that XYplorer hangs because it tries to refresh the content of network folders while all bandwidth is consumed by the copy.

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Impressive. Still no ideas though. If this is running in the background and "Refresh during file operations" is OFF, XY should not be affected at all by the process.
So this happens only if copying *to* a *network* location?

I confirm that I use "background processing". I tried with "Refresh during files operations" on and off, I got the same results, same lag.admin wrote:Impressive. Still no ideas though. *To* and *from* a network location. From my tests, it doesn't happen while copying to/from USB, so it seems to affect network only.admin wrote:So this happens only if copying *to* a *network* location?

Have you already tried with auto-refresh completely OFF? (Not meant as a solution, but to narrow down the bug)

Just tried it, it gives me the same results.admin wrote:Have you already tried with auto-refresh completely OFF? (Not meant as a solution, but to narrow down the bug)

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Did you already try to use XYplorer's Custom Copy instead of the standard Windows copy?

Same results as well, even with auto refresh completely off.admin wrote:Did you already try to use XYplorer's Custom Copy instead of the standard Windows copy?
I shall point out that:
- It doesn't happen at home, but only at work. The network speed is different: 1Gbps @home, while I'm stuck with 100Mbps @work.
- I tried it with two different computers (Windows 7 vs Windows 10) at work, and I had the same results.

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Can you check in Task Manager whether XYplorer.exe is reported to do anything during the copy? (It should not do anything.)

Sure. What should I check? CPU?admin wrote:Can you check in Task Manager whether XYplorer.exe is reported to do anything during the copy? (It should not do anything.)

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
So it behaves alright.
The background process (XYcopy.exe) is spawned from the main process. But both should run independently. Are you sure your system supports multi-tasking?
It remains a mystery.

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Is there any way I can debug this a bit more thoroughly?

Re: XYplorer not accessible during network copying
Currently I have no idea. Since XY is not doing anything, what should I debug? No action, no bugs.
