Free version v. 17.40 - Of late, has been eating the Disk 100% on Win 8.x.
I have disabled check for updates, Folder Sizes, Network Drives, the works.
When I close it tells me 'Unfinished operations will be aborted..continue ?'
And when I click on Yes, then it is fine.
I just noticed in the status bar it says 'checking folder sizes' - so even though I have it unchecked, it still checks it.
I recently switched from limited user to admin user. Maybe it is checking some other setting.
I will re-install and report back.
Update: wow that was a nightmare..there was a ghost version of XYP even after uninstall & reboot - cause - making it replace explorer.
Even after update and checking and unchecking a few times - same bug.
Can't wait for someone to say 'upgrade to the licensed version'...it will all be good

Re: 100% Disk usage on startup
Stop folder size calculation by pressing ESC. Then turn it off in configuration. Problem solved. Tip: Use folder size calculation only on demand, or enable folder size caching.

Problem solved ?? Didn't you read that I mentioned I had turned it off already ?
Everytime I open XYP, I have to remember to hit Esc otherwise it will eat up DIsk/CPU/RAM.
You call this problem solved ?? I dont think so.

Might be the setting is not saved between sessions. Check whether the INI file is written at all.roxyplo wrote:Problem solved ?? Didn't you read that I mentioned I had turned it off already ?
