BUG: Copying folder with names too large...

Post by GUIguy »

:bug: Trying to copy a folder via drag n drop from PC to phone's internal storage connected with micro USB cable.

Get Windows message that it's too large: Image #1

Click Cancel and XYPlorer crashes:

Here is rest of text from crash textbox:

This is reproducible EVERY time.

(These images are much larger on the forum than they were on my PC. What's the trick to making them smaller?) :veryconfused:

Try to set this tweak to 1:

Code: Select all

PortableDevicesCopyByShell=1
That should get rid of the crash.

(How to tweak: https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=tweak)

BTW, the forum images look good here.

Thanks, Don. That worked beautifully. However, when I tried to copy a folder this time from the phone to the PC, still with cable, I got a consistent, reproducible crash but with a different problem signature.

I never had to click anything but "show problem details"

And that had worked without crash before you set the tweak?
