Hello,
first of thanks for a very nice product!
I am having a very annoying problem, though:
When in the folder window, I sometimes press PageDown to get further down the list. Focus then normally goes to "My Network Places". And then I am screwed...
All programs freeze for approx. 1 minute, and when Tracker finally returns, it shows an empty list. Clicking on the folder in Explorer works fine and returns immediately with a proper list.
I am never using "My Network Places", so for me, a nice fix would simply be a configuration option to hide the (useless) folder.
Thanx in advance,
Thomas Svensen

So, now you can hide the nethood and your problems, too
Download the latest TrackerV3 BETA version (v3.60.0101, 18-dec-2004).

My Network Places hangs
I just downloaded the current version yesterday.
So far: Very nice and useful tool!
But, clicking "MyNetwork Places" TrackerV3 hangs completely and never returns. It does not need any CPU time along the way.
I'm working extensively with many network ressources located in the internet as well as the intranet.
Maybe the reason of the hang up is that always some or the resources are not reachable (because I'm working alternately at different locations connected to different networks as well as completely offline) ???

Re: My Network Places hangs
Hmmm, hard to say. Network is a weak spot of TrackerV3 because I don't have a (real) network here! So I can just shoot into the dark...tiw123 wrote:...clicking "MyNetwork Places" TrackerV3 hangs completely and never returns. It does not need any CPU time along the way.
in the internet ...? Stupid question: how do I connect MyNetwork to a network ressource in the internet?? If I can do that I can debug the functionality!tiw123 wrote:I'm working extensively with many network ressources located in the internet as well as the intranet.
There are no "stupid questions", there are only stupid answers ...
In the windows explorer under "My Network Plces", I doubleclick the "Add Network Place" Wizard. There I may enter e.g.
\\server\share (shared folder)
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com (ftp site)
http://webserver/share (Web Share)
By the way: I got Windows XP SP1 Professional

Ok, TrackerV3 can handle this:
\\server\share (shared folder)
It does not even see this:
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com (ftp site)
I was not able to try this (help!):
http://webserver/share (Web Share)
I could not reproduce any "hangs completely and never returns".
