File-size column reverting to 'raw byte count'

Post by Alexapex »

It seems no matter what I do, there are always going to be tabs (with detail-view), that show the filesize as 'raw byte count'.

I save my preferred setting as the default folder-view, but still, sometimes I get tabs with this raw filesize.
I think this is probably because 'raw byte count' is the first option in the list.
If so, the simplest solution might be to have the windows-default (KB) as the first option.

It may be a problem on my end. I might not know the proper way to set this for all folders.
In that case, apologies for posting it as a bug report. And can someone then please tell me how to do this correctly?

On another note:
Do you know the application called 'Everything'? It's the fastest way to find files. It's tiny and very effective.
Perhaps you can 'borrow' their tech and implement this in XY.
That would be so awesome!

Thanks again ;-)

Close all tabs apart from the first
Set your columns up, including the file size columns default value

View - Folder View Settings - Manage Folder Views...
Delete all existing entries (right click context menu item...)

View - Folder View Settings - Define this Folder View as Default
File - Settings Special - Save Folder View Settings

Now every new opened tab will use that setup

Everything can be used from XY (externally), there is a script in the script section of this forum...
