Renaming Locked Folders

Post by Alexapex »

There is an issue with renaming a folder when this folder is in use.
The windows prompt comes to inform you of this, so you press cancel.
But then in XY the folder still has an open cursor for renaming.
This causes the windows prompt to come up again and again.

The only way out of this, is if you give the folders back its original name.
This is tricky, because the user might not have remembered it.
Also it's strange because you have to go 'behind' the windows dialogue to reset the original name.

Standard windows will automatically revert the folder back to its original name, after pressing Cancel the first time.

Steps to reproduce.
- In some directory, create a folder 'folder1'
- put an image file in folder1 and open this file in mspaint (to lock the folder).
- Now try to rename folder1 to something else.

- Choose Cancel in the Windows dialogue
- The dialogue keeps coming back.

Is this a bug, am I doing somthing wrong, or is there a setting to modify this behavior?

Thanks.

Just press ESC (once when you pressed cancel for the dialog or twice to cancel the dialog and the renaming...)
