Can't copy multiple files with overlong filenames

Post by stric »

Hi,

I can copy single files with an overlong path via drag & drop between panes. "Support overlong filenames" is enabled. Source path and target path are both overlong.

But if multiple files with overlong paths are selected (or a folder which contains multiple files with overlong paths), the copy does not work. Instead a windows message appear that the target path is too long.

Confirmed.

Next version will show this message:
"Use Custom Copy to copy more than one overlong item at a time."

And this is also the solution for you: Turn on Custom Copy here: Configuration | File Operations | Custom Copy Operations | Use Custom Copy

I just upgraded to 16.00.0251 and I have custom copy turned on.

Now, if I try to copy/move >1 files (they do not have overlong names) I get the"Use Custom copy..." message and the copy/move aborts. Moving one at time is fine.

What was intended?
