Manual Refresh Icons Not Refreshing List

Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.

Reference: XY > View > Caches > Refresh Icons

Refreshing the Icon cache currently isn't refreshing the icons in the LV. Not sure when it stopped working. Required to exit XY and restart (XY) to get refresh to function/refresh the icons.

Same problem since a long time, too.

E.g. I have an icon named animal.ico in a folder for an .ahk program that I compile.
Let's say that icon displays a dog.

1. Compile the program
The new .exe's icon shows the dog

2. Copy an animal.ico from a different folder over the current icon file.
This time the icon contains a picture of a cat

3. Recompile the program
The new .exe's icon still shows the dog

4. View - Caches - Refresh Icons
No change for the .exe's icon, it still doesn't display the cat

Yes, it's cached by Windows. I once researched how to reset this cache but it appeared to be an extremely weird and complex procedure.

So, take the workaround: Restart XY.
