Thumbnails not created for some files

Post by acheton »

Hi there,

I am running XY15.10 and am having a problem with thumbnails not being created for all files. The files are jpgs which when opened render correctly. However both the F11 preview and thumbnail simply show blank (as shown in the attached files). I have deleted the entire thumbnail cache and the same issue occurs when visiting the same directory. It seems like it might be a bug of some description - any ideas please?

thanks

Thanks, got it.

However: No problem at all with the image.

Can you reproduce your issue with a fresh instance? (How to: http://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=fresh)

Fresh instance works fine. So the problem is somewhere in the config. Any further advice on how to resolve please?

Do you have issues with ALL jpegs? In that case you might have excluded them from thumbs? Search your XYplorer.ini for "jpg", you might find something... (NoThumb key)

Or check these INI keys (if they are not = 0 they might explain it) :

Code: Select all

; Tweak: max area of thumbed images, 0 = unlimited
MaxArea=0
; Tweak: max file size of thumbed images in bytes, 0 = unlimited
MaxFileSize=0

Both settings are 0. I am using 320x320 for the thumbnail size - could that have anything to do with it?

No.

I currently don't see what could cause it. :?

What about other image formats, GIF, PNG etc...?

the PNG's seem to be OK however out of 2.5k files only a handful are PNG's. I have tried another size of thumbnail and that still fails. Any other suggestions?

You already tried this, right?: View | Caches | Refresh Thumbnails

Actually I hadn't. I'd simply cleared out the cache directory. I have tried it and it still doesn't work. Would sending you a copy of my config file help?

Tried it, no problem.

Maybe something is wrong with your GDI. Did you try other qualities? -> Configuration | Thumbnails | Quality
