Pretty much what the title says.
I dropped a file from XY List onto Word 64bit, and got nothing, but if I drop it from the desktop the file is added to the document.
I can repro with MPCHC (can't load subtitles by dropping them onto the video area from within XY).

Are you sure it isn't because one is running as administrator and the other isn't?

Odd thing, the reverse is ok, I can drop text from Word into XY, and a txt file is created. That should rule out the HIPS suite...

No, this can't be. I drop to 64-bit apps all day long and there is no theoretical reason why this should not work. There must be another cause to your issue.

Dropping on MPC-HC portable (.ini file instead of registry)...
MPC-HC (x86) = ok
MPC-HC (x64) = doesn't work

Both MPC-HC and XY are running with normal user rights, no elevation.

x64 OS (Server 2012 R2)

So I'm not alone...

Yes, the 64 bit version.

I can drop onto the 32-bit version of Notepad2-mod, but I cannot drop onto the 64-bit version of Notepad2-mod. It tries to open some non-existing file with asian characters instead of the file I drop on it. See https://github.com/XhmikosR/notepad2-mod/issues/61

considering linked discussion, it's clearly a notepad2 (-mod) bug...
