A curious bug: when I right click the Network icon at the bottom of the folder tree and select Browse for Network Server... a "Search for a Server" ("Recherche un Ordinateur") window opens with "Network" node and nothing else. At the same time, when I click a folder of a network server in the catalog, it opens up and the server (with its tree of folders) is displayed under the Network icon of the folder tree.
The connection with the server was created outside of xyPlorer, using a simple shortcut with the remote server as a target. If the connection is not created prior to clicking "Network" icon in xyPlorer then it is impossible to reach the server from xyPlorer.
It looks like this is new with Windows 8.1; things worked smoothly with Windows 8, where the different network servers reachable from the remote computer were diplayed for the user selection.

Re: Browse for Network server fails
Thanks for the report. I don't have Win 8.1 for testing. Not even Win 8.

Re: Browse for Network server fails
If you know the Server and the Share, can you enter \\Server\Share\ into the Address Bar and reach it?

Re: Browse for Network server fails
The address bar at the top of XY does not work. However, the shortcut in the catalog does.

Re: Browse for Network server fails
You are right, with backslashes it connects. The 'Browse for network server' still does not work.

Re: Browse for Network server fails
XYplorer can cache the servers*, so once you browsed them you don't need the shell's unreliable 'Browse for network server' anymore.raananb wrote:You are right, with backslashes it connects. The 'Browse for network server' still does not work.

Thanks. I set the cache, and will check next time the computer is started.
