Croatian - 8.121 (2020-06-29)
Re: Croatian - 8.79 (2016-09-08)
Updated.
Q: Since about 8.78 I have an impression that the translation tool is forcing the "UTF16-LE w Signature" when saving the file. Previously it retained the original encoding (in my case the UTF-8). If I recode the file into UTF-8 with external tool/editor (as I did before uploading it), XYplorer seems to have no problem using it. Is my impression correct and, when yes, why has that change been introduced?

Thanks!
I'm not aware of any such change. Are you sure, or is it just an impression?
PS:If you send me such an UTF8 encoded file I will test it here.

Well, yes, I am pretty sure.
Do the following to test it:
Do the following to test it:
- Help > Select local language file > Take my latest Croatian translation (the size of it should be about 548KB - it is encoded in UTF8 without signature)
- Make a copy of that file somewhere, under another name
- Help > Interface translation tool > Save
- Compare the size of both files (the newly saved has roughly doubled in size); Compare contents in a good editor (I use EmEdit)
