Hint.
Toolbar
You can make a special type of "Gruppen-Führer" or "sub-toolbar" button, which will, when you hover over it, throw out the horizontal menu from the buttons grouped together.
This horizontal pop-up menu should be located below the toolbar and hang there until I hover with mouse another toolbar button or until the focus will leave zone = [toolbar + height of the "sub-toolbar" menu].
In this case, I can again (without making a click on this button) go into this horizontal menu (hanging in front of me) and do all the necessary actions on it, like on usual button located in the usual toolbar.

Such special button will not hinder to scrolling toolbar (with left or right mouse click), although after the appearance of such buttons there can be nothing to scroll.
--------------
For touchscreen mode, this button can be simply clicked and the "sub-toolbar" menu pops up.
I think this button will be very popular.

I suggest you change this item of lng-file

[messages].General;Colors and Styles;Information;File Operations;Find and Filter;Preview;Tabs and Panes;Other
[messages].1. General;2. Colors and Styles;3. Information;4. File Operations;5. Find and Filter;6. Preview;7. Tabs and Panes;8. Other

In this case you will always be able to specify (in log file of beta versions and probably in help file) the number of the general section of Configuration
for example Configuration1..Configuration8
It seems to me so much more conveniently.
And so there is less confusion with other places where the word Configuration is used (I mean the Configuration buttons and their dialogs)
As far as I have understood on anything another this numbering doesn't influence.

Not only able but forced to do it. Which would be 1) a lot of work, 2) would make earlier references look wrong.

Another problem is the future. Whenever I insert another category I would renumber the ones following behind it.

I'm just curious to know your reaction to pure logic:
When I see ... Configuration | Previewed Formats ...I'm looking for "Previewed Formats" with my eyes.
With the number, reaction is instantaneous.

In fact you never mention self name of the section. Therefore, there are no problems.
So number itself in Configuration5 or Configuration8 is redundant information, it does not forced you to do anything.

The renaming itself does not cost anything. This is not a difficult job.
But in this case it will be even easier to navigate in the log file of beta versions.
I will clearly see the difference: this is how it was before and this is how it looks now.
The number itself is redundant and its change will prompt what was before, but will not be a hindrance.
(In the current log file of beta versions I do not have such hints and it's very uncomfortable)
---------------
grand total: No additional work and no need to worry about that old references look wrong.
Better for communicating in a forum and for maintain a log file of beta versions.

The help file, the change log, the forum: full of references to configuration without those numbers.

Thanks!

Those message only come when Save Settings to the related files fails:

Code: Select all

v18.50.0206 - 2017-11-19 19:08
+ App Exit: The "Errors on Save Settings!" message now comes with the list
of settings that had an error.

from explanation for v18.60.0011

Code: Select all

    Example:
      Copy Column: #101
Copy Column: File | To Clipboard | Item Path/Name(s)
      Copy Column: (Ctrl+P)
Copy Column here sounds like it's suggested to copy the entire column, while it is suggested to copy only one value from the column.
It would be better to correct, for example: copy from column. (or just copy, or copy value)

OK, there might be a better wording. Any suggestions from English speakers out there?

Copy Column:
Copy Part:
Copy Section:
Copy Substring:
Copy Value:
Copy:

?

"Copy Part:" - is the best for me, after it:
Copy Section:
Copy Value:
Copy:
-----
but you know better (I just want to translate literally what is offered by you)

It is a duplicate of [core].<#> <file;~s>
(I can see [core].<#> <file;~s> in info-properties tab if in Configuration I have checkbox "Show folder size on Properties tab")
