Which Program for Backup

Post by Vector »

Hi, My computer runs Windows 7 Pro 64 bits, and everything seems OK, except I can not backup the system partition C. I hoped that the XYplorer (a terrific program ) may help.
So here is what I did:Opened the XYplorer, right-clicked partition C, selected Properties, clicked Tools and clicked Create Image of this partition.
Here I am told that a program is missing, and that I have to go to add/delete programs and add the missing program.
I see a list of programs, some checked and some not, but I have no Idea which program to check.
I will appreciate any hints/ideas. As I am not a computer expert, please try to be very specific in your reply.
Thanks, Vector.

What exactly has this to do with XYplorer?
right-clicked partition C, selected Properties, clicked Tools
Screenshot of that window at this stage?

Hi, highend. Thanks for your prompt reply. If I go through this procedure from Windows , I am not directed to "enable or disable programs, but rather the backup
starts right away and fails to complete.
By the way, I performed a "Repair Install" of the operating system and it did not help.
I also tried to use Aomei, a third party backup program . Backing up partition C failed as well.
Regards, Vector.

Hi higland, so far unable to include a screenshot. I am used to use the "Snipping Tool" , but for some reason can not copy it to this mail.
Thanks, Vector.

There is a "Upload attachment" section when you edit / write a new post. Save your picture and then upload it.

This still has nothing to do with XYplorer...

Hi highend. OK. I thought that maybe my question has something to do with XYplorer, as the program directed me toward a solution.
I will try to solve my problem by myself.
Anyway , to my un-professional eyes this is a beautiful program.
Thanks again, Vector.

Well, since this is the "Other Software" section of the forum the OP's question was totally okay. No connection to XY needed.

I moved it here xD

I wasn't denying support I just wanted to make clear that XY is not the culprit of this error / behavior.

I personally have used EaseUS ToDo Backup Workstation for years. It's got a bulletproof engine and lots of options, yet amazingly simple to use.

Just my 2¢...

And I also have been using it for 4 years with absolutely no problems.

I have it installed on 4 Win 7 Pro X64 computers and because of it I have never had to reinstall Win 7. Got a problem? Just restore your backup.

I consider it a blessing. :D
