Windows 7 vs 10
Windows 7 vs 10
Is Windows 10 significantly better than 7?
Re: Windows 7 vs 10
What's your definition of significance?armsys wrote:Is Windows 10 significantly better than 7?
My view: yes.
Re: Windows 7 vs 10
By significantly better, I mean:
Faster!
More reliable!
Fewer BSODs!
Fewer ET phones phone!
Fewer unneeded services!

After reading: http://www.techspot.com/review/1042-win ... page2.html, I would stay with Win 7.

I see w10 as a step towards what currently Android-based phones do: it will open all sorts of personal info to all sorts of software developers and whoever heaven knows with any sorts of intentions.
The time will come that Linux may be a shelter for me, leaving Win-based systems as high end gaming consoles if/when I start to find reasons for such type of entertainment again. >sigh<

Appreciate your sharing of a software developer's insight. From your viewpoint, you see its huge potentials. And now I see what you see. Thanks.SkyFrontier wrote:I see w10 as a step towards what currently Android-based phones do: it will open all sorts of personal info to all sorts of software developers and whoever heaven knows with any sorts of intentions.

Re: Windows 7 vs 10
Hmmm...
I'm afraid I wasn't clear enough, armsys. Sorry.
Each and every time I install an app on my phone I see the more ridiculous permission requests one can think of. Haven't googled on this but... why on earth an app uninstaller needs access to my sms and contacts/phone numbers?! No way, there's nothing that can convince me to install such a monster!
Now think on a cloud based OS from a company known by ruining millions of machines all over the world by allegedly needed updates, a world where the most reputable HDD manufacturer embeds its hardware with monitoring capabilities.
I have, like all of us should, those human little -little!!!- dirties that should be well buried under the ceiling of a personal privacy. Contrary to what's current common sense, I also do like to preserve me and my people from prying eyes or even curious ones.
Sometimes I think I'll be the last human heart on Earth. And I'm aging.

Where in the page or how did you reached that link, armsys? Coz' the Resources index never had such ancient (yet very useful back then!) address AFAICR...
