XYplorer on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XYplorer
The article is no longer true with Lifetime license, too short, not mention a lot of killer features.
I think Wiki can be a good promotional source for XYP and this can definitely improve.

Re: XYplorer on Wikipedia
Your are totally right! Wikipedia is indeed one of my main promotional sources. It's a pity that the article is so bad. But I cannot do it myself, the wiki-police will lynch me for self-promotion. So if you or anybody else here feels inspired: go ahead!

Re: XYplorer on Wikipedia
And from actual experience with this article in years past, I can tell you to be VERY careful in how you write things there! I tried to expand it some and ended up getting entire article deleted because it offended some of the wiki regulars! It took quite some effort to get it reinstated so to any who wants to help Don, just tread lightly, ok?binocular222 wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XYplorer

If you make it look too much like an advertisement, that's NOT a good thing...a short article that exists is better than one one that doesn't! So if you want to list some features, follow the existing style and make it sound like it was written for a encylopedia or educational journal or such.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Yes!
At least this ugly green-dotted box should vanish. It's obsolete and looks like shit.

Hahahaha!! That green box was me. I don't know why I did that but I got a bit bored. Anyways, the article before that was even worse and since I sucked so much at writing, I ended up leaving it like that so sorry for all that badness. But anyway, yeah someone with better writing skills should really work on that.

The comparison of file managers page should be updated too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... e_managers
For example: "browse compressed folder" should be changed to yes.

Re: XYplorer on Wikipedia
Comparison of file manager list items that i am not sure about:
Grouping - not sure what this means
Content dependent - automatic view depending on filetype. I guess Don despises such smart behavior, me too.
Network protocols: all ? for SMB/CIFS, WebDAV, NFS, AFP, FTP and FISH/SSH
Directory compare - i guess can be done via scripting?
Synchroniser- says partial now. If there's a decent synchroniser script this can be made yes.
Metadata indexing- Not sure.. is it Find file's content search?

Updated XYplorer on Wikipedia. Added the new XYplorerFree version.
Re: XYplorer on Wikipedia
Don, just in case, are we allowed to embed/reuse/relink/whatever the screenshots you use on the "main" site? Feels to me like a wikipedia page without one image at least sucks...

Re: XYplorer on Wikipedia
Updated the latest stable versions, and added an infobox for XYplorerFree.
Don, what are the titles you want to use for the two versions?
I went by the download pages making it "XYplorerFree" and "XYplorer Pro Edition", but it feels strange omitting that space in the free one.

The link to free should be: http://www.xyplorer.com/free.php
Thanks!
