Flooding in Germany.

Post by Gandolf »

Don, have you been affected by the flooding? I see several areas around Köln mentioned but nothing about Köln itself. Hope all is well with you.

Thanks, but downtown is safe. The river is rising, but I've seen it higher in the past. However, the many trees that swim in the muddy water are a bit disturbing. That is new.

Pleased that you are safe and that the Rhine is not too high, if it burst it's banks.... It appears from what you wrote that there is a lot of earth and plants coming down stream. Not good for shipping or water life.
"More than 40 dead and dozens missing..." on the ITV News website, sad news. Köln seems to have escaped the worst of it.

Yesterday had crazy moments. It rained very heavily non-stop for hours and then suddenly the rain changed gears and got even stronger. You go WHAT?
