Re: One flipping as 'ell annoying thing

That works, thanks, but why does it only happen to this one particular folder, when I have many others containing "last used subfolders"?

One flipping as 'ell annoying thing

I've got one directory, nothing special, containing 57 files and additional directory. However, every flipping time I open it, XY puts the focus on the one directory, and that's at the very bottom of the screen. What can be the cause of this, it only happens for this one folder, and how do I stop it?

Re: Hide CD / DVD drives

Well, at first it appeared a bit like bloat to me, but thinking about it, CDs are now what Floppies have been 20 years ago, right? Pretty obsolete! So, yes, there should be a way to hide those drives. I did not use mine in at least 5 years I think. I rip newly bought CD's, no streaming for me, I li...

You can probably do everything asked on these forums via scripting...

What I'm asking for is making it possible to do incremental backups out-of-the-box, one of the more elementary functions of a file manager...

Right-click drag & drop / Configure Backup Operations

Can you please add an option to only backup modified files, like when doing "xcopy /a". Preferably not "/m" as that would screw up making backups to two (external) disks, because yes, that nice big single 6Tb disk you use for all your backups will fail at the most inopportune mom...

WinRAR - remarkable service

Among the few programs I've ever paid for is WinRAR (Others? The ones I can readly think of? Obviously XY, several versions of IDA Pro, Vern Buergs's "List Enhanced" (sadly not the server version), and something, long ago superseded by VLC, to transcode AVI files to MP4 ones). My rarkey.re...

Leave a bit of space next to the rightmost tab...

...so that you can CEA open a new tab by double clicking on it. Probably 10 pixels (or maybe even 5) would do the trick. Of course Ctrl-T also does it, but with the "T" in the middle of the keyboard, that's relatively speaking, harder than a double click.

Working with VHD files

After having tried sharing disks (and miserably failing) between a VirtualBox PC DOS VM and W7-64 using about all the methods suggested on the various forums, I just discovered this little gem, VHD Attach , which makes attaching VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) files a one-click operation. (Something making ...

Re: Filetype icon changed, changed back, but not in XY

In the end I actually had to shut down Windows, which made me a rather unhappy bunny, as that also meant shutting down my z/OS system.

Anyway all is well again.

[Solved] Filetype icon changed, changed back, but not in XY

I accidentally tried to open a .VMDK file using WinRAR, forgot to unclick the "Always open" checkbox, and that changed the file icon to that of WinRAR. Eventually managed to reset it using NirSoft's FileTypesMan, but the new(= original) icon refuses to show up in XY (where I still see the ...

Re: Folder view: Hide directories and show modified files only

This kind of semantic overlapping applies to many settings. IMO it's better to make a decision for one semantic category. You're the boss. But may I kindly suggest that in that case you add cross-reference notes to the "Help" to point out that there's a second setting that also affects ce...

Re: Folder view: Hide directories and show modified files only

Not sure what you mean. The identical option in 2 places? Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Sometimes these things make sense, just as it makes sense to inline some code rather than putting up with a single instance of a 4 instruction/18-byte instruction subroutine that is called three times with a ...
