Do you mean too complex to code or too complex to use? If you mean usability, thus I think XYplorer in general is not for those users who can not manage some shortcuts. Standard MS Windows Explorer is much more simpler for beginner, isn't it?

May be to use different keys for different operations? For instance:

To insert the auto-selected item from the list - RightArrow
and
To insert the fragment from edit field - Enter

When you enter searching query into "Name and Location" box XYplorer guesses suitable variants from the recent history. As one of them variants is usually focused it is very logical to suppose that if you press "Enter" the focused query will be inserted into the box for searching...

In my system it is not a beep, but rather a clatter. Depend on configuration.
However I wouldn't refuse using additional hotkeys only in order to avoid hearing this clatter. No problems.

We have now regular expressions in search and in selection filter. Would be nice to get some functionality in "Color filter" and "Visul Filter" settings.

Simple reason: lack of keys. I would like to offer Alt+1... till Alt+0, but due to a VB bug, when you click those keys you get an annoying beep, and nothing can stop that. Do you mean that you get annoying beep once or for some time? If only once, so I don't think it to be so bog problem to refuse ...

If you use an option "Incl. files specs" when creating reports, the filter meaning in the report will be always stated according to "Between... and/add" meaning in the "Date" tab. But it is absolutely misleading if you've used in search another date filter - "In th...
