Re: Rename files based on Age ?

Do you have to set the "select folder" as a variable ? Not necessary. Depends on what you want to do. The script could be written to do exactly what you want. You just have to define first what that would be. For example, here we just work on the current folder and do a loop over every item: // loo...

Re: File name / Folder name select

Try this. Step by Step to understand. Select your file, then execute this script: 1) $base = "<curbase>"; msg $base; Next step. Select your file, then execute this script: 2) $base = "<curbase>"; msg $base; $folder = "$base-files"; msg $folder; Now the full script. Select your file, then execute thi...

Re: Rename files based on Age ?

Can you rename files specific criteria, based on the files age ? This could be done by a script. If you can't write a script, at least write the wanted logic in English words, like: for each file in [select folder]     var = get modifcation date        if (today minus var == more than 90 days) then...

Re: Mirror browsing between panes

It really works well, thank you. On more testing... 1) Only,... if I go upwards out of the "starting" folder, the "other panel" changes to the path of the active panel,... confusing. But only if on same drive. Can/should the "starting" folder be locked while Sync Browse is enabled to prevent going u...

Re: Mirror browsing between panes SyncBrowse

+1 I am interested on a "SyncBrowse" feature based on same folder name on each pane (even with different parent paths), like F:\Images\2012\own\ ___\01_Jan ___\02_Feb ___\03_Mar U:\Backup\Stefan\Bilder\1999 ___\03_mar ___\02_feb ___\01_jan If I go into a folder named "03_Mar" on left pane, XY should...

Re: scripting-bug with PFA

@autocart There is one little difference between your code, guessed from screenshot, and "TheQwerty" code (linked by you) 1. PFA/POM allow you to use paths in your pattern meaning you could configure XY such that opening an INI file within the FindTemplate directory would perform a LoadSearch scrip...

I think I've attached one but there's no indication.
I guess you talk about this forum?
Then, e.g., do like editing your post and see below the Message body field at the "Upload attachment" area if there's any attachment visible.

Re: iPhone in XY

Not bad, I came closer, but then I got this Well, the usual, I guess: from Win7 VPC invoke Windows Update. But I can't tell how exactly for your case. I would open Device manager, select the device without proper driver and chose "Update Driver" (or like this) from context menu. Or maybe visit the ...

Re: [S] Tool that converts UTF-8 entities to Windows1252?

You can easily read the whole file into one string (takes almost no time) and do your conversions on that one string. Finally write the string back to file. >read the whole file into one string  :?: What's about the 2083 characters limit? That's why I suggested a line-by-line loop. urldecode...

Re: iPhone in XY

I have an android phone. But I cannot make it appear in my win7 virtual box. :? Any ideas? I don't know: are you familiar with VirtualBox Manager? Me thinks I should be like this: * have your USB device connected to the host PC * launch VirtualBox Manager * select a powered off virtual machine * cl...

Re: See Contents Of Many Folders

Is there a way to Branch View of a folder, where the files of each folder are displayed beneath their folder? Me think it goes like this 1.) Menu "EDIT > Show All Items In Branch" 2.) Click at the header of the path column to "Sort by path" Note: Menu "View > Sort By > Sort Folders Apart" >>> unche...

I think we talking about a file content (parsing a XML) :P

But if we had to rename a fileNAME, then yes, File | Rename Special would be the way.
