Re: Error message when closing XYplorer
@cmc Thank you. Unfortunately I do not think that the error message itself can help Don in any way. It would be interesting to at least hear if in your case the library in which the error ultimately happens is winmm.dll, as in my case (multimedia api, I thnk) and what was on the call stack. The prob...

Re: Error message when closing XYplorer
I experienced it after a long time now. Was processing images from USB memory card reader. Used additional two applications for that, apart from XY. Deleted images on a memory card using another application (i.e. not XY). Closed XY (USB reader was still attached and active). Parts of a crash report ...

Hi Jerry, based on similar thinking, I wished another solution: Catalog: Optional dynamic hight adjustment There were no other interested users and - admittedly - one user does not justify the effort. However, I am having great hopes in " Tab groups (Workspaces) ", a feature standing high ...

Re: MP3 playback problems with some files and cover art in f
Just wanted to add another experience: At my place XY did not say something like "Can't decode" in such cases, but died with a RTE. The actual cause was apparently SonicHDDemuxer.dll , which is apparently (Google...) known for such effects. Have uninstalled it and now I also receive "...

Re: why no way to use "mouse-shortcuts"?
They are sometimes known as Mouse gestures, for instance in Opera: http://help.opera.com/Windows/11.50/en/mouse.html Firefox obviously has these: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Mouse%20shortcuts Much of it is perhaps far fetched for a file explorer, but I have to admit that, being an Opera user...

XYcopy 2.00.0060 staying alive?
I am using No-Install Packages. Before unpacking the new version I close the running XY and then unpack the Zip-file over the existing files. This time (10.30.0013 over 10.30.0010, under WinXP) it was not possible to do that with XYcopy (which, as far as I can see, has not been changed, but I nevert...

Re: Please change the mouse cursor on offline machines
This thread made me clueless up to this moment. Now it appeared to me that the mouse pointer Wanda is speaking about might be the "splitter positioning cursor". Could it be that under some special circumstances (USB drive just plugged out?), time effects and mouse positioning, the mouse cu...

Re: Error message when closing XYplorer
But cmc, that means that this error happens really often at your place. Don and others have the problem that they can not reproduce it. So, you are actually a great hope in helping Don to solve it. Have you perhaps tried to follow my previous advice to try to use the crash reporting tool http://www....

Re: Search results tab
Thank you. It is of no much importance, but maybe Help could mention that when no search result is already there then in that case the results appear in the current tab (not so with locked search results tab).

Search results tab
Is there a functional difference between the settings Current tab and "Search results" tab (unlocked) apart of the tabs header (<search base folder> and a text constant "Search results", respectively)? Really sorry, if I again ask the obvious, but the Help states: "Search re...

Ooops, sorry! Just found the answer several lines downwards in this section:

Find Files and changing tabs
My "Show search results in:" is "Search results" tab (locked). I have several tabs opened. With "Find now" button in info panel I start search and obtain results (in a new "Search results" locked tab, as wanted). I then go to another tab. Then I go back to &qu...

Re: Preview of MP3 keeps file opened?
Well, now I tried it again (however on another WinXP) and it is exactly as you write, i.e. I can not confirm my previous report myself. (It is another XY version, but this should be irrelevant for this issue, I guess.) The WinXP I reported it from was the one I was ripping the CD on. I do not...

Preview of MP3 keeps file opened?
Maybe this is not a bug? Maybe it is unavoidable? Here is the story: I was creating and previewing (inside the XY's info panel) lots of MP3 files today. Some had to be deleted. Although I switched the info panel to properties first, it was not possible to delete the files that were previously previe...

Catalog: Optional dynamic hight adjustment
It my very well be that this is a too special wish. Hope that at least it has not been wished already and rejected. Well... I like the catalog to be visible, but small enough not to clutter the tree. As I have several categories inside a single catalog, which themselves have a somewhat larger number...
