Re: Freezing during drive spin-up

By the way, I still want this. While I am in the process of consolidating the number of external drives I have, the problem will not go away. Per-tab processes are nothing new, they have been in web browsers for years.

Re: lifetime license

You are not just paying for a file explorer, but also for a substantial period of support and updates. Nothing stopping you buying a standard license now and then another one next time you feel like the product reached your worthiness to invest again. However, for the price of doing that, you can ha...

Re: List doesn't auto-refresh

Yes, I notice that from time to time too. Most often when using an external drive. My suspicion is that drive spin-down affects auto-refresh where files can still be written to it or MFT updated, but an explicit refresh is sometimes needed. Unfortunately, XY generates no log files for me to dig into...

Re: Redundant delete confirmation

OK, that way you can create that situation. But I don't think I have to do anything. Whoever ends up here should know what he has been doing and why. And even if not, nothing bad can happen. So, who cares. You should care. There is no benefit to letting people generate multiple dialogues that ask t...

Re: Association of file extensions, double click fails to open.

Welcome! XY has a feature called Custom File Associations (Tools > Customize File Associations). Format for your case would be as follows: mkv;mpg><path_to_the_main_VLC_executable> Doing that is easier than faffing around with Windows associations and troubleshooting why they don't work.

Not possible if the dialog is modal. :?
I am not known for feats of the impossible, but I have that box unchecked and I can produce this:

Re: Redundant delete confirmation

How? By pressing "Delete" again. Unchecking that setting just causes the delete yes/no dialog to still be in your face. However, pressing Delete again generates a new dialogue on top of the original one. If you click yes on the new pop-up, then the original one is orphaned (vice versa if ...

Configuration | File Operations | Miscellaneous | File operation progress dialog modeless
That makes the dialog stick, but it does not prevent multiple dialogues from being created by a user, so there is a possibility that orphans will exist.

Redundant delete confirmation

I discovered the most blatant bug today: it is easily possible to create orphaned delete confirmations. - Create a dummy text file - Press delete but do not click on either yes/no - Switch to a different app - Go back into XY and press delete again but now click yes - Minimise other windows to displ...

That is not really the point though. A well-designed dialog should not need resizing. I know, tough crowd

Re: Custom copy: Name collision

Unused space is not automatically evil. It's relaxing. I beg to differ. Unused space of dialogs and progress windows wastes my screen space underneath, thus forcing me to arrange things in a way that allows their display and work on other tasks. Good dialog windows strive for a compact and efficien...

Re: Custom copy: Name collision

Given how strongly I feel about GUIs, I could not help but chime in: a) There is a lot of empty space to the right of file metadata and it feels like a waste. Given that vertical monitor space tends to be more limited than horizontal length, tall GUIs that overlap quite a bit of the background scree...

Re: Cloud functionality

Ultimately, we both want direct access to cloud accounts for our files, be it data files, code snippets, etc. Not really. I just want for XY Cloud to exist so that it can back up my configurations and make it easy to import profiles into newly-installed instances. I am not interested in any/deeper ...

Re: Dark theme

Those of you running the latest versions of Office will find that MS included a new dark theme. That is how I wish XYplorer could look. For reference, this is how that is: http://i.imgur.com/zSEqkeC.png In this day and age when even Apple cares that we are not exposed to bright light unnecessarily ...
