That's exactly what I thought was happening!, anyway those extra lines you are seeing are in the url file , what you are seeing is a text preview of the url file contents, ie. those aren't configurable from XY, also you can't add custom fields to the bottom of the hoverbox preview like labels, tags ...

Your screenshots are of the Hover Box, not File Info Tips, anyway if this issue you are only asking about rectifying *.URL filetype only, then you can untick *.url from: Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats | Categories | Text Files and then you will get the normal info tip for URL files. From your description, I think if you disable this it will then do what you require:

Configuration | Tabs and Panes | Dual Pane | Always keep 1st pane visible

Have you tried pressing the funnel icon on the left hand side of the live filter box?

Activate inline rename then press right arrow twice.

If you have the cache enabled, then to update existing thumbnails you will need to run this after in each folder:

View | Caches | Refresh Thumbnails

Smooth should be the highest quality, if that is what you are after.
