Re: Cloud functionality
On Nov. 10, I posted my cloud support request ( https://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=16645 )] I am not sure that it is appropriate to combine these wishes because what you wish for is quite different to what I am asking for. While both may come under the moniker of "cloud func...

Re: Glitch with time zone changes
This is still noticeable and is a bother. While you can say "just restart XY", that bug I pointed out the other week about changes not being saved if one doesn't restart for weeks kinda plays into this one. Please fix it Don. What thread are you referring to? Erm, this one :? I saw that y...

Re: Incorrect icon status for folder with a USB drive
Well, it works in Win8 so I guess they have fixed that . While that may be the case, you also support XY on Win7 and XY sits on top of Windows and has to make do with how Windows works. To that end, since you seem to suggest that MS hasn't fixed something they should have done, it follows that you ...

Re: Incorrect icon status for folder with a USB drive
If the Windows notification system is sloppy, why not periodically check whether a given tab location still exists in the file system? Also, somewhat related to this, I can see that my external drive is listed in the Computer tab but not in the locked tree. Is that another "notification system&...

Re: Incorrect icon status for folder with a USB drive
I am using Windows 7, so the OS may be a factor here. Can you spin up a VM to evaluate? Don't have a Win 10 install to hand to check there right now.

Incorrect icon status for folder with a USB drive
Simple to test: 1. Plug in external USB HDD 2. Navigate to a folder on that HDD 3. Change to a different tab in the same pane. 4. Use system tray to safely remove that USB HDD 5. The icon of that folder in the other tab won't change but, if you were to go back to it, it will switch to a ? inside a w...

DnD'ing from Recycle Bin
When using Explorer to DnD files from RB into XY, the names of the resulting files are "internal" ones like $ABCXYZ even though RB shows the original names. Anything XY can do about that? Doesn't look like XY can DnD from RB -- I don't always want to restore files to the location where the...

Re: Auto-save doesn't save
Can be. I tend not to restart my machines unless mandated to by the likes of Windows updates. Hope that you can slot that improvement in by 17.50.admin wrote:Is your Windows sessions older than 25 days? Indeed then the autosave can fail I just saw. Needs improvement...

Re: Auto-save doesn't save
Checking the Help file I see this: Note that Autosave will not happen just by itself but is triggered by the following user actions if the specified number of minutes has passed in this moment: · Changing location (you browse to some new folder). · Tagging an item. · OK-ing the Configuration dialog...

Auto-save doesn't save
I have it set to auto-save every 5 minutes and a number of changes have happened -- the icon is dirty and mouse-over says 4 changes are to be committed -- yet it has been hours and they have not been saved. What gives?

Re: Self update
This is a good idea but at the same time I would like a link to the Waht's New web page so I could see what I was getting before I install I created a substantial thread about this a while back -- https://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7201 -- and it was proposed that the changes in ...

Re: Cloud functionality
There are 2 purposes that I am looking for from the cloud configuration: a) Easy protection of all my configuration, history, etc in the cloud for DR purposes b) Easy ability to restore a fresh installation of XY as one of the profiles saved in the cloud The a) is interesting and obvious, so let's f...

Re: Cloud functionality
Windows already offers a solution at the "right" layer (the file system): move your <data> folder to your cloud drive (or folder) and create a symbolic-link with the same name pointing to the outsourced folder there. Please do not take offence, but I really wish people would stop offering...
