Most of the time, I'm in dual pane mode and hitting Ctrl+F6 to copy from one pane to the other. I don't think I tried different methods, as I would think it's the same root function.

A network share is periodically mapped to a drive letter. However, if the network share goes offline, certain actions in XY (such as a general refresh) causes XY to hang.
