Re: Access denied on network share -- solved by Windows Expl

I am currently at a remote location. Connected to the office network via VPN, and the junction folder works properly. I will need to wait until I return to the office tomorrow to try again when I am connected directly to the network. Not sure how to get the Target on my "office" computer (...

Re: Access denied on network share -- solved by Windows Expl

I am not really sure. I've upgraded with all the recent XY versions. I did not notice the issue last week, and I had *probably* used the folder successfully. I upgraded to 12.40.0200 earlier this week, and probably went for a couple days without using the folder. I isolated the issue yesterday when ...

Access denied on network share -- solved by Windows Explorer

Using XYPlorer 12.40.0200 on Win 7 Ultimate on a corporate notebook and network. This behaviour only started within last 10 days or so. Previously worked properly. Starting from a fresh reboot, I connect to a network share (mapped to w: drive) I navigate successfully through a series of folders; the...

small bug - 11.90.0100 - color filters

After upgrading from 11.80.0100 to 11.90.0100, the color filters were not applied correctly. I reviewed the Color Filters Configuration, I found that "apply all checked patterns to the list" had been cleared. I re-checked the box, and things reverted to their previous state.

Copy selected filenames to clipboard

If I have a series of files selected, how can I copy ONLY the filenames to the clipboard. I've found "Ctrl-F > Report > Current List", but it copies more information than I want.

Tried searching the forum before asking, but could not find an answer.

Re: Pasting Files From Outlook

I was just going to add the same request. The "add a number" method is annoying I am curious why Windows would prevent it, though. If you do a regular drag-drop between folders with an identical-named file, Windows asks if you want to overwrite the existing file. Why should it behave diffe...

Re: Need help - user button to run program

Thanks very much!!

$path = tab("get", "path");
$pathi = get("path", i);
run """C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\FreeFileSync.exe"" ""$path"" ""$pathi""";

Re: Need help - user button to run program

Thanks for the fast reply. That launches the program with one of the folders.
Is there a similar command for the path on the unfocused pane?

Need help - user button to run program

Following (similar) directions from another post in this forum, I created a User button, and assigned this to its Run property: run ("C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync\FreeFileSync.exe") It displays an error when I click the button. "System cannot find the file specified." Yet when I...

Re: Select files from subfolder for batch rename

Yes - I looked at using XY scripting, but for expediency I just reverted to something familiar.

Re: Select files from subfolder for batch rename

Having seen 16 viewers and no answer, I suppose it's not feasible. Too bad...

I wrote a VBA program to loop thru all the folders and rename the files. Kinda kludgey, but it got the job done. Thanks anyway for looking!

Select files from subfolder for batch rename

The folder structure is like this: 2001 01 02 ... 12 2002 01 02 ... 12 2003 ... I want to select all the files in the 01 subfolders so I can rename them with a consistent prefix. Once the files are selected, I believe the batch rename will do the job. Then I want to select all the 02, and rename the...

Re: ex PowerDesk user finds a great replacement

Only thing I haven't found yet (and I understand it's on the roadmap) is browsing Zip files. It was a favourite feature of mine from PD, and I encourage the developer to put it into XY. Welcome! Something that may work for you to be able to at least see the contents of a zip file is to make a tweak...

Re: ex PowerDesk user finds a great replacement

Would be nice if the "save" function for the catalog was separate from the main "save on exit" toggle.[/quoteAs to your comment re save of catalog: Have you looked at File>Settings>Save Catalog? You can select various items to save within that Settings menu... Alternatively, you...
