Re: Fileversion

Hello, to the best of my knowledge it cannot be done at the moment. This topic: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3654 may also apply to your question. You might use the report feature in info panel to create a report that also includes file version informations. The wiki has a extensive description of the report...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Yes, "Panes" was my first idea, too. I still find it better personally... I just wonder what a newbie might make of it? You didn't find my message as nitpicking :) so I can say I think a single word is better, I know in UI design they usually recommend not using multiple words as a menu bar title. ...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Two mini mini things, I hope not seeming too pedantic  I think I never saw a two words menu item before, so may it be better a single word like "Panes" instead of "Dual Pane"? but I can't answer, only english speaking people can One more little thing for Don's todo list that I would surely ove...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Yellow: I did not do it because it also affects the Info Panel tabs (which are always in Classic style). I don't like the yellow on the Info Pane too much personally. Maybe I'm an aesthetic outsider here? I don't know Don, it's not for me because I know how to change it :D (I have it on). The sugge...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

I tried the new button to toggle the active pane in build 404 and I personally find it much better now, I hope it's the same also for other users. I think yellow marks are still not enabled in new build (they are useful for people with classic tabs or with Windows classic theme). I think the ability...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

First reaction to the new build... I felt "strange" the new button. I mean, I know the pressed state is to aim visibility but I felt it strange. Strange that the same element (a pane) may have two different button states only for being pane number 1 or 2. And strange the action associated to the but...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

We might use Don solution for users with toolbar Coloured address bars for people with AB I attach a sample screen of another solution for people with tabs, we might have a special (here leftmost) tab as an indicator of active pane Of course all three things for people with complete UI and also the ...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Someone brought it up before, but coloring the column headers is another option. The inactive pane can have column headers that are dimmed (or some other customizable color). That makes it subtle, yet clear enough to be seen, and local to the panes. The problem with column headers is that there are...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Let's try to recap the situation... 1) Some users are worried of lost space, because Menu, Toolbar, Address bars/Breadcrumbs and Tab bar are 4 "lines". Don said we first need a working and completed dual pane and later he may see what can be done about it 2) We need a way to highlight the active pan...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Question: When is it necessary to know which is the active pane? Well, I guess it's needed for example when switching focus from a pane to the other or from the tree to a pane as a visual feedback and confirmation for the user action. I think it wouldn't be good for example clicking into a pane and...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

I'm not 100% happy with the result yet, but I made a couple of quick tests with a line outside the list before going to sleep (well not so quick, when you tweak these things time flies :P ) As Don said, we can't draw anywhere but there are some things we can do and something that are difficult or i...

Following latest thoughts and the idea of dual address bar, I prepared some neutral shots if you want to open and modify in your editor Minimal configuration http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/3170/001ac.png Dual address bar, no tabs http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/1364/002ag.png Dual address bar, ...

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

Maybe not needed anymore with pane headers and so on... (I like Don mockup!) but I'll share a last version of the "line" I did for today. You may always find something useful in it :)

Re: Dual Pane - Formal Proposal Thread

What's the first / second / both panes flexible? That's the behavior when resizing the list panes. I know that a better wording is due. Any ideas? Sorry, but I still don't get what this is meant to do...so can't come up with better wording yet...I've tried a few things and don't see what it really ...
