I wonder why the new feature is called "paper".
I did not find the writeup to be groundbreaking as claimed. A directory full of symbolic links would work for all programs, not just within the XYplorer program.

Re: "save" directory or file ?
I had looked through the script docs a little, to see where I would put a script. Ended up seeing that User Command had a blank for that, so it stashed it away someplace.
I thought the indent thing was specifically for script files.

Thanks... that's less than intuitive, I must say.

Re: "save" directory or file ?
Test it... Thanks. I pasted it in the edit box when creating an entry for the User menu. When I select the new command, it pops up another menu showing "foreach($item, "<get SelectedItemsPathNa…" on one line and just "}" on another. It seems to be a menu because of how the ...

Re: Without the option "Use generic icons" absolutely unusab
since it behaves as if it's going to read the entire file just to extract the icons, this triggers antivirus's software as if a program is completely being opened up so it ends up scanning the files You could run Process Monitor (ProcMon) from Sysinternals to see how "other" programs are ...

Re: Tabs drawing state is messed up
How did I do it?
I have no idea. I don't recall what I was doing when that happened, but when I went to the XYplorer window, I noticed the contents was wrong. At first it simply showed the wrong tab as the active one. Clicking on the right one gave the mixed state.

"save" directory or file ?
I've never done anything with XYplorer's built-in scripting language. So maybe someone could help me automate this: Operate on the selection in the list pane. If the name ends in "-SAVE" then copy it to the un-saved name. For example, "foo-SAVE" will be copied to "foo",...

Tabs drawing state is messed up
I'm showing the file list from the second tab (E:\scratch…) but the 3rd tab (Downloads) was shown as active. Clicking on the Scratch tab, it became a mix of active and inactive, and Downloads did not change and is still active.

Duplicates in "Search Results"
Using v 14.20.0200 on Windows 7 x64. I searched for "msvcr100.* in C:\, with Follow folder links. I got one hit, for example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Remote Debugger\x64\msvcr100.dll but "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0" is a...

right-click on network drives
I've been having serious trouble with network drives and XYplorer. When I right-click, it gives me the busy spinning circle cursor for a looooong time. Right now, it is happening and seems to be permanent so I have to kill the process. ⋯ OK, it finally stopped. But I've since left that window for ot...

Re: Serious delays plauging XYplorer on my machine
Well, it seems to be durable, in that putting the value in restored the long-wait-on-delete behavior, and removing only that line eliminated the problem. Try setting that particular value and see if it does anything odd. As for servers.dat, I see that munging it does not make the start-up time have ...

Re: Serious delays plauging XYplorer on my machine
Well, I just spent a while paring down settings to find the problematic one. As it turns out, the slow-start problem is different from the lock-out when performing operations. The slow-start went away when I removed the servers.dat file. I continued tested by creating and then deleting a file via sh...

Re: D-Day it goes 64 bit...
Don agreed to make this work if someone coded (in any language) a small 64-bit utility app that popped a 64-bit context menu when launched with a list of files/folders as a command-line argument. You know, I remember seeing a tool like that somewhere. I can't remember what or why; and I certainly c...
