Type Ahead Find in floating preview
I thought that there had been a request for this feature before, but I couldn't find it. I'd love to have the type ahead find (or any kind of find, for that matter) in the floating preview window. I frequently use the Find command to find files containing a certain string, and I'd love to pop them o...

Re: Desktop Email client
After having dropped Thunderbird due to its vast amount of annoying bugs (especially when it comes to OpenPGP support via Enigmail), I've switched to The Bat! and never have looked back. Sylpheed (as a free alternative) is OK but ugly. On UNIX systems I use Emacs with Gnus. :) Ah, I used to use Ema...

Re: Thunderbird vs Forum Stalking
Unfortunately, the email notifications are just that -- a notification that a message was posted. The message itself isn't sent, so you still need to log in to the forum to see what was posted.
(unless there's a setting I missed, which is certainly possible).

Re: Desktop Email client
Our mail is hosted on google servers, and we use Thunderbird because its IMAP support seems to be very good. Last I checked, Outlook's IMAP support was not great. I wasn't thrilled with the announcements about not much further development for Thunderbird, but so far it's the best I've found for what...

Re: Multiple Select in List Management
I believe Stef123 is referring to list management -- one a single item can be selected. I was just doing this today to edit my mini tree, and wished that I had been able to select more than one item and then delete them all at once. So I agree that multiple selection in such cases would be very nice!

Re: Undo a deletion is broken
Now I have the culprit for sure. JAM Software has a free UltraSearch application, which uses the MFT for the lightining fast search of your drive. But when it is running, XY undo is broken. If I stop it, the undo immediately works as expected. I use (and highly recommend) the Everything Search Engi...

Re: Entering an hidden folder and being kicked out
To make it work like you want it I would have to write complicated exceptions to those rules. No worries, I don't ask nor want this :) I agree with Marco's description of hidden folders i.e. like rooms that you can go into if you know where they are (and I think the ability to treat them as such wo...

Mine is also set to 0, and I'm quite certain I've not set it manually.Enternal wrote:Don, is it really set as 1 by default? That's weird. I just looked for it today out of interest and in my XYplorer.ini, it was set as 0

Re: Backup - numbering, no reuse of old sequence numbers
I had a similar situation with a project I was doing, where we were using a letter suffix instead of a number. What we ended up doing was starting with "z", appending it to the name, and checking for existence of a file. If not found, tried "y" etc, working our way backward, unti...

Re: 7z 64bit support
Thanks for the initial feedback. No, that didn't work for me. Have the 7z (32bit) on the context menu but the file contents of the *.7z file will not display in XYplorer. Will continue playing with it. Oh, do you mean you want to browse the contents of the 7z file within XY just as you would a dire...

I think that will solve the issue. Good luck!bugs4me wrote:Maybe I need to install the 32bit 7z program. Like you I'm running Win7 64. I'll give it a go.

Re: 7z 64bit support
Welcome! Have just downloaded the latest XYplorer 13.6. Looks good but unlike my existing file manager I cannot configure it to read the contents of archive 7z files. Nor of course will it write to them. Does anyone have any idea if/when this feature will become available? I simply installed the 32-...

Perhaps, though I'm running Win7x64, Office 2010 x64, and XY, and have no issues opening office files from XY...admin wrote:Well, it might indeed be related to the bitness then. A 64-bit version of XY is planned for this year.
