Re: Access Denied
I can't confirm this: WE can't, like XYplorer, browse C:\Documents and Settings itself. Please see the attached screenshots. My observation is: Clicking on C:\Documents and Settings results in Access denied with WE and XY Autocompletion of C:\Documents and Settings in the address bar returns no resu...

Re: When Updating should I uninstall the previous version?
If you "just use" XY without making own modifications... then Yes; just de-install the older version before installing the new one. Strange advice. If he uses all the default settings where the chances that an update succeeds, then he should uninstall. But when he has many customizings, w...

Re: When Updating should I uninstall the previous version?
Better do a fresh installation. I updated lately from 7 to 9 and had strage effects (e.g. the list icons were missing afterwards).

Re: Constant Crashes
Please find DisableSHChangeNotifyRegister in the INI and set it to 1: DisableSHChangeNotifyRegister=1 Still crashes? Yes (and no). Still crashes, but the stack text had changed. But i don't know if these changes are relevant: STACK_TEXT: 0018e420 72a10dcf c000008f 00000001 00000002 KERNELBASE!Raise...

Re: Constant Crashes
I tried to read a dump anyway. What i did was to 1. use the procdump utility from sysinternal's tools suite to create a full dump when xyplorer crashes. 2. Then i used xyplorer nearly 20 minutes until it crashed and voila: i had a dump on Windows 7. 3. Then i downloaded the debugging tools from Micr...

Re: Constant Crashes
So, which virus scanner should I install to have the best chance to have XY crash? It will be probably easy to fix once I can see it happen here. If i were you i would first install a virtualization software, e.g. VMWare Server (free). Then install a Windows in it (XP, Vista, 7 doesn't care), make ...

Re: Constant Crashes
Interesting finding about the AV. But i don't think that is the only reason. That would be to simple. I have two Windows systems and XY crashes on both. One XPSP3 with Kaspersky 8 and a one Win7/64 with Kaspersky 9. Once i demonstrated XY in the company where we use F-Secure on a Vista system. THAT ...

Re: wow64 off, can overwrite files without confirmation.
Nope, makes no difference. No confirmation dialog pops up neither when disabling WOW64 and copying nor with starting a WOW64 disabled XY and copying.

Checked against Win7/64 with 8.80.0001: Same result as Minimax reported (no dialog, but nothing overridden).

Re: Cannot get a simple script to work
I see you are in Switzerland, so i suspect you use a german localisation. Thus try run "C:\Programme\WinRAR\WinRar.exe" Tried it, didn't work. Thanks though. Funny! I have Win7 64bit german and this works (i use WinRAR, too). Are you sure you have the 64bit version of WinRar insta...

Re: Non closable error dialog using F11 on a particular BMP
I have just looked into the documentation. A negative value of the height is a valid value, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa930622.aspx.
