Re: Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel 2.0.1.1
Thank you for the reply; will have a look at the suggested software. In fairness to Microsoft, once you get the hang of their bare bones utility it does work well. The reason for its use is to keep the ISO of several CD's and DVD's of images always online. Since the original posting the difficulty h...

Re: Procedure to copy a Catalog Item
Opps... Left off the attribution. May not know that much about xyplorer but I don't plagiarize. Arthur C. Clarke said, "When answering a student's question never use the word obviously. Remember, what may well be obvious to you to that student could be indistinguishable from magic".

Re: Procedure to copy a Catalog Item
I agree its not obvious. Well, the only way to make a duplicate of any items is to hold control button and drag the required item and drop it elsewhere. Thank you for the insight. It is now functional. It is this type of nonintuitive operation that has induced a love-hate relationship with the soft...

Re: Procedure to copy a Catalog Item
Hummmmmmm, the plot thickens.
Restarted program, same result - grayed out. Being innovative selected catalog item and tried Control-C. That yielded a dialog box stating, "Copying of selected item(s) not allowed".
Now am ineffably annoyed.

Procedure to copy a Catalog Item
What is the procedure to make a copy of an item in the Catalog? Trying the obvious by right clicking to bring up Context Menu gives a Copy, Paste and Paste here to new Subfolder all grayed out.
The answer may be obvious to the program's cognoscente but it is not obvious to me.

Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel 2.0.1.1
Due to complex circumstances have begun to use the unsupported Microsoft utility Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel 2.0.1.1 . However, when the ISO is shut down the virtual drive persistently remains in the Tree. Neither Refresh Tree nor even an xyplorer restart gets rid of it. Only solution found thus fa...

Small bug in Info Panel, Properties
When double clicking on an icon to copy it to clipboard there is no feedback on Status bar that this has been successfully completed. Doing so on other items yields a "Value copied".

Wouldn't it be nice if when reorganizing the toolbar the list of Available Buttons displayed in alphabetical order.
Also, there have been times when using the Preview it would have been handy to have Info Panel on/off on a per tab basis.

Re: Vexed by simplest "moveto" script
Alternately, you could use the GetInfo function to include the selected list item paths and ignore the focused control entirely using: ::MoveTo("E:\emitter",GetInfo("SelectedItemsPathNames","|")); Thanks for the code segment which clearly utilizes advanced features. It...

Re: Vexed by simplest "moveto" script
That would be because when you click on the Catalog item, focus is on Catalog and therefore command moveto relates to the Catalog item you just clicked. To prevent that, simply add focus; before, to send the focus back to List: ::focus; moveto "E:\Emitter\"; Little Grasshopper humbly acce...

Vexed by simplest "moveto" script
Know upfront scripting is new to me. This moveto E:\Emitter\ runs perfectly from Scripting|Try Script but when used as a Catalog item (with the prepositional ::) it yields a "Nothing selected or what is selected cannot be moved". The vexation comes not from that something is wrong but that...

Re: Popup by Tag/Cmt column right-click
Do get me wrong here. Freely and unequivocally acknowledge that having posted to the Forum the answer appeared within 24 hours. The main assertion was that for a casual user it should not have to be incumbent on him to have to monitor a Forum to keep the program running properly. The Help file ought...

Re: Popup by Tag/Cmt column right-click
Point taken.
As a practical matter, however, that may be fine for the wonks who salivate over every nuance of code change in the Beta Forum. For us mortals who rely on the Help file (and now graham's PDF) it is not so fine.

Re: Popup by Tag/Cmt column right-click
That is about as subtle as it gets. Is it mentioned somewhere in the fine print - Paragraph 37, Subclause 82?Unless I misunderstand, that used to happen to me until I disabled View/List Style/Full Row Select.
Regardless the popup is now there. Thanks for the headsup!

Have tried: a) The Column per se
b) Column header
c) Directly on a comment
As Groucho Marx once opined, "This is so simple a five year old child could do it. Quick - bring me a five year old child!"
