Note that a clear color difference between the current path and the downward path is important. Or do you have another idea for marking this difference?

Which button size? Which toolbar zoom? You say "SOME of my Toolbar icons ..." which are those some? Is there a pattern?

Some information about your toolbar settings and a screenshot would not hurt.

It's caused by font sizes > 9. Nothing can stop this control from growing in height. But yes, it's ugly, so I'm going to prevent it from becoming > 9 for this control.

XYplorer does not provide the interface that fb2k expects, but waiting 15 seconds seems a bit long. You should talk to fb2k about this.

"Others have reported their own similar experiences..." Not so similar. AFAIK others have reported that "open containing folder" works (immediately) in XY, but selecting the file in that folder does not. The latter is something that cannot be fixed.
