And a good DAM program will provide you with full access to exif, iptc and xmp fields and allow you to do all sort of advanced renaming using this data.. see Idimager for a good example.

Yes.. that is what I was looking for! :)

If you open the tabset that is already open, just "revert to saved" without prompting to reload the tabset. I'd be happy camper with that one along with the scripting so both panes can be opened with a single button.
