Re: Background Jobs

Yes, it's slightly confusing, but I'm quite sure (as you are as well) that the feature/logic is ok, and that if at all the GUI has to be improved. I think about it... I'm thinking to keep the green check icon, but add a little pause icon as overlay might be a good "compromise". It convey ...

Re: Background Jobs

Another usage is to set pause right from the beginning and then add jobs to the paused queue. When your queue is to your liking, you unpause and go for a cup of coffee while the machine is working. Yeah, and do you know how better it'd be if one could re-order the queue of pending jobs? I...

Re: Background Jobs

I see you've already made some changes, very nice, melike :) - It seems that we don't always get a statusbar feedback, and I believe we should. I honestly couldn't tell you when I missed one, so there you go for being helpful, but I have a feeling that we don't get one if the queue is empty (or more...

Re: Dos Command Line in Info Panel and more...

I had the same thought and I'm totally open to change it. I really would like to hear more opinions on this! I'd agree, since I would think most of the time you'd want to keep the window to stay open, if only to read the output. Plus, it's easier to do "!" to open the dos prompt, rather t...

Background Jobs

Yeah, let's talk semantics! :P So, with my work flow I'll admit that background file operations isn't something I normally use, but every once in a while it actually comes in handy, as it did this weekend, so I was happy to use it (queued background jobs), and as a result I have a few remarks : - It...

Re: The name "Status View"...

Can't we all just agree that the best name is "Background Tasks" or "Background Tasks Log?" My current favorite among the proposals is "Background Tasks..." . It clearly and correctly tells what it is in common language, and omitting the word Status or Log reserves the...

Re: XYcopy - AutoQueue

If it's not too late  I'd like to suggest potential modifications of this menu, as follows: 1) Refactor the "Move Here with/As.../to..." into a pull-out menu of "Move Here". Same for "Copy Here". 2) Is "Cancel" needed? 3) Remove "Here" from th...

Re: Embedding command line parameters

The best use case for it is any of these scripts that require user configuration and ask for the path to an executable or location. They can then more easily use InputFolder/File to prompt the user for the path and this function to convert that path into a relative one that would work correctly whe...

Re: Toolbar Scrolling not working

The overflow doesn't appear to update when you scroll the toolbar via wheel, it remains the same items that were there originally, but scrolling by dragging updates the menu. Also, when wheeling sometimes the button on the right remains only half visible. It works, and dragging will take care of sh...

You've got options, have a look in Configuration|Tags at the list under Coloring Style.

Re: Beta 8.80.0030 High CPU Usage

However scrolling the Tools -> Customize Toolbar tree is still very laggy compared to 0028 which was instantaneous. This will stay like this I'm afraid. It will probably go away with the next GdiPlus update by MS. Question: Does the same go for the Action Log? Customize TB I don't really care, as I...

BTW, I invented something ultracool for the toolbar... forget overflow dropdowns, there's better stuff to come...
Thanks, you truly are the best! :D

Also, I'm looking forward to forgetting overflow dropdowns, even though I still have room on my TB ;)

Re: Backup(to)

Sure something could be done. The easiest (for me) would be to add a checkbox to config/backup "Show stats when done" (or so -- please wording suggestions...) -- good enough? Yeah, although I would really like it if it was (also) an optional parameter to backupto, just like preserve_dates...

Backup(to)

I have a problem with this change: v8.80.0314 - 2010-02-19 14:48 * Backup operations: No more "Done" message box when the operation is done. The status bar message has been pimped up to make up for it: You will now see something like this: Backup done in 0.032 sec (8 files processed: 4 cop...

Re: Minor - "Backup to Other Pane" has no CKS

A tweak to turn it off would mean that Gandolf would have to manually edit his 200 INI files... A tweak to turn it on would mean that nothing would change for newbies, but the whole upgrading service here was only done for newbies who don't know why new keys do not auto-upgrade. That's one way to s...
