Re: Any "quick launch" switch to omit the launch d
No, there is no pre-scanning or something. The load time is partly due to the loading of the VB-runtime and partly to the depth and size of the startup path. I find it pretty fast by the way, about 300-500 msec on my machine. My tip is: do not close TrackerV3! :D I thought TV3 to be one of the fast...

RE: Smooth refresh
Well, this works perfectly over here. What's your OS? EDIT: I'm surprised that nobody else comments on "smooth refresh" -- IMHO it's a phantastic improvement . Or does it work only on my machine?? Ok admin, I checked it out for myself and to calm the developers doubts, it works on my mach...

Re: Save find settings to template
Hi Donald So, the templates are there. Check the new BETA and share your opinion. Checked the new Beta and it seems to work as expected, except that I was wondering about the inconsistency of not including the Exclude folders tab in the templates. Why's that? I'd say those settings are as relevant f...

Re: Save find settings to template
Hi Donald It seems the discussion is focused on where to store the templates. Maybe you should let us know the current state of your thougths for the implementation of this. 1) Do you still plan to split the .INI files for the find templates and the general settings. 2) Do you plan to include start ...

If "Find following folder links" is looping
Hi Donald Well now it's in the right forum I guess... . v3.60.0112 - 04.02.05 22:26 . Notes: - "Follow folder links" is independent of "Include subfolders" and both can be freely combined at your choice. - be aware of the possibility to end up in a loop by having links target to ...

Re: Here's the new BETA
Hi Donald Uh, is that an amusing story or a bug or a wish? Looks like all works as expected... I warned you about the loops  Sorry, wasn't sure where to post it. Meant it as a TIP for others, who may be experiencing the loop effect, and since I wanted to quote your warning, I posted it here an...

Re: Find following folder links & Save find settings to
Hi Donald Interesting approach, let me add some thoughts to this: OK, here's the plan, and I'm still open for ideas or comments from anybody for some days: - there will be 2 new buttons on the Find Files tab, "open template..." and "save as template..." which will open a standard...

Re: Find following folder links & Save find settings to
Hi Donald First of all nothing to thank for. Thank you for being that open for new ideas, and I won't stop sharing mine. Ok, let's talk about search templates . There are some points that need consideration: 1) name combo: will the whole list be saved to the template so that each template has its ow...

Re: Find following folder links & Save find settings to
Thanks for your support Leopoldus Just came back, with the intention to make exactly that comment myself ... ... If this idea is realized as a switch, not as a compulsory feature, anyone could decide himself, if in the current search this option is more important then speed or not. ... you were fast...

Re: Find following folder links & Save find settings to
Hi Donald But that way I have to know where I got folder links and have to select each of them. I suggested a switch similar to "Include subfolders", because I usually don't know where the folder links are. Therefore, with a switch I thought, find could just follow all the folder links on ...

Re: Find following folder links & Save find settings to
Hi Donald ...Nice idea! I've just built it in. There's no need for a switch: simply select your folder links and start a search...d Just downloaded the newest Beta (0109) to check it out, but it doesn't seem to work on my system. Installed TrackerV3 in the same path as before. (keeping .ini) I find ...

Find following folder links & Save find settings to file
Congratulations to a great tool. Was just wondering, if my following wishes could be helpful for other users as well. Folder links I'm working extensively with folder links to organize my files and it would be very helpful to have a switch in tracker, to enable finding files by following these links...
