Re: Bug: Timestamp display via XYPlorer VS Windows Explorer

To make sure I just turned my clock back to August, then time-stamped a file using XYplorer, then turned back to December. Well, all looks as it should (file shows one hour earlier than it was stamped to -- in XY and WE). I will try that. But as of now - XY and Explorer differ - but only on certain...

Re: Bug: Timestamp display via XYPlorer VS Windows Explorer

What you see is a wonder. If we assume that others are not able to confirm this (Don, me,...) and that there are no wonders, just phenomena without explanation, then the following is what we have here: API calls behaving differently, in dependence of what is using them. Might this be true? My first...

Re: Bug: Timestamp display via XYPlorer VS Windows Explorer

Storing the timestamps as UTC was anything but a bad decision. I've never had any problems with that or XY. A source of problems could be some 3rd party program installed on the computer, even one that could not relate directly to the issue. Try to login as administrator account and try from there....

Re: Bug: Timestamp display via XYPlorer VS Windows Explorer

Fascinating. Timestamps are saved in universal time (independent of time zones and day-light saving, and roughly the same as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)). When I save a file in summer at 12:00, and look at it now I see 11:00. So - are you saying that XY is somehow Daylight Savings time aware? And &qu...

Bug: Timestamp display via XYPlorer VS Windows Explorer

I have noted an odd bug with XY (using the latest version - but can confirm it was there in previous version). Also - I noticed this for the first time when Canada switched back to Daylight savings time in early November: In this first cap - is a view of a folder full of archives - that I manually p...

There's a command to enter all favs in a new category there...
This is the way I do it and works great. The catalog is one of my most favorite features!
Will give this a try. Thanks!

So - Favorite Folders - Why can't we assign shortcuts?

I get the concept of "collecting/toggling" my favorite folders into a list. But what I don't get is - after I have toggled them - that's basically it. Now I have to click two or three times to expand yet another menu - to get to these favs. Why can I not toggle a fav folder and then quickl...

Re: Backing/Restore up my entire XY Configuration

Personally, I include XYplorer's current ADF in my general, more or less automatic backup, by changing its location through Startup.ini. This way, it's located in a folder hierarchy which gets backed up along with all the other config and licensing stuff I (try to :)) keep. Thanks! I checked out st...

Backing/Restore up my entire XY Configuration

Hello, I just built a new workstation over the weekend and prior to decommissioning the old one - I backed up my XY config file - figuring that I was getting all my settings. I quickly realized that this was not the case. To wit - I had a number of user commands created in my old setup and even afte...

How to deal with computers that are not available on network

Been running into this a lot lately - and I'm sure there's an optimum setting I am missing. Usually I will use XY to occasionally browse shares on a computer on is up and appears in the Network tree one day...and then the next day - XY is still showing said computer in it's network tree - even tho t...

But as I said: it works when you open the archive.
Excellent! I will simply open the archive for now when required.

Q: Any timetable on an XY 64bit version? Within 2012 perhaps?

Re: Will XY ever support proper drag and drop to WinRAR?

Ah, correction ! I first thought you mean drop onto an opened archive window, but now I think you mean drop onto the unopened RAR file directly. This indeed does not work on Win7 (with the error you have appended). It does work on XP though. I'm quite sure this is related to the 64-bitness of your ...

Re: Will XY ever support proper drag and drop to WinRAR?

Works fine here. Tested on XP and Win7/64. There is no setting for this. Hmm... This error comes up on ALL my installs (a couple at home and one here at the workplace). Q: Are you running the 64bit version of WinRAR - because I am - on all machines. This could have something to do with the fact thi...

Will XY ever support proper drag and drop to WinRAR?

Wondering why XY will not allow drag and drop to WinRAR archives: http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2384/winrarmessage.png Is there a setting I am missing or is this standard behavior for XY? Would be nice to be able to actually drag things into these archives without having to resort to Windows Expl...
