Using "Tags | Load Tags Database" I loaded "C:\HUMPHREY-PC\Users\Humphrey\NewOne\SharedTags.dat" onto the Desktop and checked that this file now exists. I did THE SAME on the Laptop.

This is not my experience.
From the pdf floating preview right click does not produce a menu.

Well I have no idea how to go about this, so for the moment I am giving up.
Rather than 5 minutes I have spent half a day on this, and that is enough.

I am tempted to ask, in a fresh question to the forum, whether any Windows Home users have managed to set up tags on multple PCs which communicate with each other.

Assuming only local network, what happens when I come back from holiday?
Do my tags somehow replicate on the other machines?
