OK this build seems to have resolved it by and large. I can now preview PDF's and close without any problems, most of the time. First I highlight a pdf file and press f11 to open the preview. Then I press either the X or ctrl+f4. Then the error appears. Does that help?

It fails whether on or off.
This option is off on my machine.

I've confirmed that this also fails on another machine too with the same build. Closing the preview window fails using either CTRL+F4 or [x] fails. In addition pressing Page Down within the preview causes the same error.
