Re: Two bugs related to directory copying

Don, can you confirm the second bug, i.e. the bug with missing labels? Metadata is a part of user data. The lost of user data seems to be very critical, to be honest.

Two bugs related to directory copying

There are 2 bug reports here. Tested with Win7 and the freshly unpacked portable version of XY 20.20.0000 The 1st: 1. Enable Custom Copy option. 2. Add the Desktop to the Catalog. Note, that it should be added as Location: Desktop , not Location: C:\Users\Name\Desktop . 3. Now, go to C:\ and create ...

Previews aren't shown/updated sometimes

Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable preview pane 2. Create a text file with some text 3. Press Delete key. You will see the standard "Are you sure you want to move this file to the Recycle Bin?" dialog. The preview will be disabled, and it will not be shown even if you choose to keep the file. (...

Re: xycopy forking useless

Performance is not a strong side because of the limitations of the language. However, it have some nice features and 30 days in trial period. Check these possible ways to fix it: 1. Try to enable/disable these two check boxes under Tools > Configuration > File Operations: * Enable background process...

Yes. Tested with XYplorer 20.20:

Code: Select all

<script>alert('foo');</script>
<style>p {color: red;}</style>
<p>this is a test</p>

JavaScript alerts are shown as system windows

Happened today: I have created html with a simple JS section. During a very short work with it (open in Notepad, do some edits, then open in browser) I got an coccinellidae window (CW for short): Error -2147024726 Error: -2147024726 (0x800700AA) Desc: Automation error The requested resource is in us...

Re: Full path vs. short path in address bar

@Don No problems. By the way, when I initially wrote about this issue, I haven't used Mini Tree (and I don't use it now as well). It was simply a mistake from my side: I have overlooked the corresponding check boxes in the Configuration. But then you asked about Mini Tree and I tested it.

Yes,

* Mini Tree is enabled
* The check boxes are disabled
* I'm in the root directory of Drive D currently
* The items are visible.

Re: Colored Tab

@Don Thanks, works. Also, Configuration > Colors > Boxed Branch = Set Your Color.

Re: Full path vs. short path in address bar

@Don Well, I use Google to type "xyplorer forum". But then, when I'm already on the website, I prefer to see its complete URL :-)

It's not "insane", of course. Just a matter of taste and just a habit, when I don't like something, to use strong words.

Re: Full path vs. short path in address bar

@admin. Thanks. Though, this workaround works only partially: e.g. you will end up in "Desktop" (instead of "C:\Users\Name\Desktop") if you type desktop in address bar.

Well, it seems it is better to just deal with it and don't try to fix this Windows insane logic.

Re: Colored Tab

When I work in a hurry, it is easy it confuse the directories which looks the same. For example, you have 20 open tabs, and one of them is %Desktop%\Scripts while another is %UserProfile%\Backup\Scripts . You have open some script to edit it, and you think that this script is the one from the main d...

Full path vs. short path in address bar

Currently, depending on how you have "entered" a directory somewhere inside "Desktop" directory, the path in address bar could be different, e.g. C:\Users\YourName\Desktop\Test or simply Desktop\Test This behavior is the same which we have in Windows Explorer. However, I would li...

Folder preview is preview pane

As I know, this feature is not implemented, but you could see something very similar if you select some ZIP file. Its contents will be shown in the preview pane. So, it could be implemented for general folders as well.

Re: Disable preview for files which aren't considered as human-readable

@highend I don't mean completely disabling, restricting. I talk about an *option* to limit it - to better satisfy the expectations of the ~95-99%% users who don't work with hex dumps and don't need to preview the files which looks like action.dat. Just a check box or something similar.
