Re: Project XYplorer on Linux update 22/02
XY shows the icon that those files show in in the normal file listing. With ICO files this is the icon itself, with EXE an embeded icon (if there is one). In all cases the shell is responsible for extracting the correct icon. Ok so it is shell related. Interesting. I've made a video for chapter 1 t...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux update 22/02
Correct: No png support here. Aha so it seems I messed that one up. Here's a bit of a mystery. When i point Custom File Icons to a *.ico file XYplorer does not recognize the file and simply displays the orange warning triangle in the CFI menu. In the file-browser nothing changes. But when I point C...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux update 22/02
... You will get the error mentioned above. Click that away, and everything seems to work like a charm. Glad to see it's also working on Mint! I'm happy to report that Xyplorer is now my go-to file manager on Linux. There's only a few features that out-right don't work under Wine but none that make...

Re: Avoiding micro-lag for 64bit context menu?
Well, currently ContextMenu64.exe constantly running in the background anyway once you have called it. It's removed when XY is removed. So there is a theoretical possibilty to speed things up by communicating with it via WM_COPYDATA instead of calling a new instance each time. But this is Mesh's wo...

Re: is there a way to use program codecs to create video thu
Well FFmpeg is able to splice frames out of a video but that won't have the desired effect here. You would still need to link that specific frame as a thumbnail!

Re: 64-bit version
Long story short? No.
Microsoft needs to develop a 64 bit compiler for VB6 for this to happen. They're never going to revive VB6. This is most likely a political decision made by management rather than by actual developers.

Funnily enough I think that's a typical programmer's issue. You'll look at something that makes perfect sense, but a layman tells you they can't figure it outadmin wrote:I really don't see anything confusing there.

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux (Update 15/02) Screenshots!
I don't think sticky will help. Google needs a while to update. It will work out. It sounds too great not to work out. I keep updating in the hope that the mighty Google Bot will be merciful :P Added a new section on how to add XYplorer to the toolbar the same way it does under Windows. S...

Re: The Unofficial XYplorer Archive
To all the people who are considering creating a Dropbox account, please follow the referral link in the first post, so we both earn 500 MB. As of now, there are 220 MB left for the Archive, which means 60 builds / 50 days before I run out of space. Thanks for keeping the archive up to date Marco. ...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux (Update 15/02) Screenshots!
:appl: You really mean it! :appl: Did you get any response from the Linux crowd yet? I plan to open an entry in the WineDB. But the best exposure would come from getting found through google. Oddly enough, this thread is currently the second hit on google for the query "xyplorer linux". I...

13.70.0113 runs the same like previous builds. Same start-up error. Think the issue on Windows was unrelated.admin wrote:See: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 808#p99808
