What's the easiest way to check if a tab exists...?

What's the easiest way to check if a tab (in the unfocused pane) already exists, and to use that tab if it does? Else open a new tab to that path? (That last I believe I have down just fine, but I'd like to see how someone else does it; I suspect there may be an easier way.)

Re: dBpoweramp convert to context not opening properly

I don't recall whether this worked for the 64-bit version. But as I'm using the 32-bit version of dbPowerAMP, I did notice that the batch convert function will (now?) open properly on a folder, which is pretty useful in itself.

Re: size of pdf MDBU preview

OK, I now installed PDF-XChange Editor 8.0.336.0 and can confirm that the previews and thumbnails are limited to a tiny 256x256 box, i.e. they are too small to be useful. Furthermore there is no multipage preview anymore at all. I'm not sure if that is a limitation of the Free Version (did not find...

Re: dBpoweramp convert to context not opening properly

The easiest solution, frankly, is to just "Open" a folder containing the things you want to transcode and sidestep the whole issue. There's a long discussion (and rather old) discussing this problem on their forum somewhere or other. Looks like someone got around it by hacking their regist...

Re: Slow-click, long-name file edits get hidden.

Sorry I haven't been on in a bit. Must have "Show length while renaming" on. Try creating a new file and simply typing off the edge, use a left or right arrow key, type some more. See what happens to the insertion point being covered. I can live without the feature. Didn't really have a sc...

Re: Preview video on Nvidia video cards

I meant a developer-to-developers contact. Our High Lord and Defender would likely have enough clout to at least get them to listen politely. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Regarding lack of contact in this exact thread: Though he has to delegate some of his work - like forum questions sometimes - I...

XY is my Bash

In Linux, someone would likely use common utilities and Bash to get things done. I get a nice UI and all the programmability I could reasonably ask for (especially since I discovered the HTML web browser control for new horizons in UI scripting). Example: Had some audio I needed to convert from 5.1 ...

Re: can't drag and drop file from xyplorer to some applications

For things like this, I'll often make a custom file association and include, usually, the folder involved and open the program with that folder in the clipboard, then paste that in the program's open files dialogue box. It's a little inelegant, but it's handy.

Re: dBpoweramp convert to context not opening properly

First, this one custom file association is better than nothing to me: "dBatch Converter GUI|C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\dBConfig.exe" {:Audio}>::copytext <curpath>; run """C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\dBConfig.exe"""; But what I primarily use is this: I was pre...

Slow-click, long-name file edits get hidden.

I have the character count box active. I usually work with two panes open, side by side. When I slow double-click to edit a file name inline, the name will kind of recenter and any typing at the end of the filename becomes invisible. It will scroll as I type, but based from some kind of midpoint rat...

Re: Preview video on Nvidia video cards

nVidia enables all kinds of quirks for games...I suspect enabling a backwards driver compatibility mode for an application is probably a trivial thing for them to do - if they're willing. Probably just a line in a file somewhere - possibly user accessible for all I know. Might be worth a developer c...

Re: XY HTML engine = IE 7

Isn't this just dependent from the system you're working on? So - partly. Not the IE version, but other things do, apparently, affect it. I dearly wish I could simply upgrade the IE version it uses somehow to at least IE 9 or so, but I'm very happy with what we've got. It's just been odd for me to ...

Re: XY HTML engine = IE 7

Well, yes, mine certainly can. In my case it's using Adobe's, which is installed on my machine, and was installed after my XY installation, but I suspect it might work with any browser-compatible reader that's installed externally. I certainly don't need to be online in order for it to work. (For pd...
