So then how would this work if one tab is a child of another tab? I often will have a directory structure that looks something like: c:\myproject c:\myproject\data c:\myproject\subproject_1 c:\myproject\subproject_1\data c:\myproject\subproject_2 c:\myproject\subproject_2\data c:\myproject\subprojec...

Speed is definitely a good thing!

With the speed of today's processors, I'm just wondering how much of a performance difference there actually is these days. Of course, if there are many other changes beyond a simple recompile, then that's a completely different issue...

Ah, so *that* is what's happening with those menus! I've noticed that "feature" and had no idea why it was happening... (and I agree -- it's very frustrating!!!) Since I keep most of my file navigation stuff (including my XY windows) on my second monitor, this is very relevant to me... I'm...

Very interesting idea! The single data array could be very convenient, and, as you say, provide a great deal of flexibility (likely enabling other things we haven't thought of yet)! The only downside that I can see immediately (also thinking in public) is that it might be a bit slower to process (wh...

I'll cast my vote for having a separate history for each tab (PLEASE!)

I very frequently will move around in a tab, and when I hit the "Back" button I expect to go back to the previous directory for that tab, and end up finding myself somewhere else...

Thanks for reconsidering, Don!

Draggin from the Catalog feels somewhat funny at first feel. E.g., what happens after moving? Delete the catalog item? Update its location pointer? I had thought about this as well (and you make a very good point). As I indicated previously, I think that when dragging from the catalog, the desired ...

Ah, very good! Thanks for pointing that out! (I had skimmed that post when getting started with XYPlorer, but had missed the last little bit since I had too much on my brain already!) I have a comment regarding the "one-click launch" of selected apps and files: I think it'd be great (like ...

Sorry to follow-up to my own post, but I'd like to request another feature related to the catalog: I'd like to have the files/folders in the catalog behave just like their originals i.e. - if I double-click on a file in the catalog, just open it rather than taking me to the containing folder. - drag...

drag from catalog?

Hi, I *really* like the catalog feature, and would like it even more if I could drag files from the catalog into an open application (in this case double-clicking doesn't do what I want, so drag-n-drop is required). Is there any way to enable dragging from the catalog just as I can drag from the mai...

Perfect! I knew I must have just been missing it!

Now I'm sure there are about a milllion other things to learn (but I'm looking forward to learning them!)

Thanks again!

Change Panel Width?

Hi, I've just recently discovered XYPlorer, and it looks great! On the website, there's a picture ( http://www.xyplorer.com/images/shots/catalog.png ) of the catalog view where the catalog is below the tree view, and those two panes take up the whole height of the window. The detail view is to the r...

I'd also recommend WinMerge (http://winmerge.org). Very nice and fast! (and free, too!)
