[Solved] : User scripts steal focus

I have user scripts that execute applications on all selected items. I get this popup window: Please wait... The shelled process has not yet finished. Click cancel to stop waiting. Unfortunately, this CONSTANTLY steals the focus! Trying to do other things while a very long process is executing is al...

Re: [v19.20] : Directories ending with spaces fail

Wouldn't a messagebox be clearer? The likelihood of seeing a teeny tiny message in the statusbar is probably unnoticeable when you are focused on where you are clicking.

Anyway, thanks for the effort!

Re: [v19.20] : Directories ending with spaces fail

Why don't you then give a message that that is the problem? I restarted XYPlorer a couple of times, I restarted Windows, and then I even installed an older version of XYPlorer to try and get it to work. After all that, I decided to check the directory from within Visual Studio in one of my C++ proje...

[v19.20] : Directories ending with spaces fail

XYPlorer fails to handle directories when they end with a space.
When you right click them in the tree, the popup menu doesn't show.
Also, when you right click them in the files/dirs listview you get the 'File' menu as popup instead of the usual directory popup menu.

Launch all affected programs as administrator and the problem should be fixed.
Thanks for the tip.

I tried it:
Windows Explorer works always with and without administrator rights.
XYplorer fails always with and without administrator rights.

Re: Drag'n'drop doesn't work with most programs

Here is a capture of trying multiple things:
1. Drop an email from Outlook.
2. Drop a text file to Notepad++.
3. Drop an image from Waterfox.

In all 3 cases XYPlorer fails, while Windows Explorer works fine.

Re: Drag'n'drop doesn't work with most programs

That's not true.

x86 -> x64
XYPlorer (x86) -> Notepad++ (x64) :fail

x64 -> x86
Waterfox (x64) -> XYPlorer (x86) : fail
7-zip (x64) -> XYPlorer (x86) : fail
Outlook (x64) -> XYPlorer (x86) : fail

Re: Drag'n'drop doesn't work with most programs

But, if it's a bug, why does Windows Explorer work flawlessly? I can also drag'n'drop from pretty much any program I use daily without fail.

Drag'n'drop doesn't work with most programs

With most programs drag'n'drop doesn't work in combination with XYPlorer. Windows Explorer works fine with for instance 7-zip, Notepad++ and Waterfox, while XYPlorer does not. It's incredibly annoying that I have to start Windows Explorer, then drag'n'drop an object to or from Windows Explorer, then...

Unable to find files and folders with an '!'

Today I did a search for all files in a directory which had an '!' in the name. I use the fantastic 'filter as you type' feature. To my great surprise no files were returned. On inspection I saw there were 2 files of the format <name>!.<ext> Doing a 'full search' also didn't show any files while the...

[Solved] Move to recent location

I have 2 questions concerning this new feature. 1. Can I add this feature to the RMB popup menu in the lister? Sort of like how we now have the 'Rename special' menu. 2. Alternatively, can I add this feature to the new breadcrumb hamburger menu? Please note that I don't want an icon in the toolbar f...

Re: Use scroll margin to stay centered with selection

Hi, iycgtptyarvg. Could you please state some of those programs you mentioned have the feature and under which name? Twice at least I suggested this to note-takers to have such in writing mode, none listened. It's really comfortable to have it active indeed. Bunnies are spreading... Sorry for the l...

Raw view for unknown file types on mouse down

I have the option set to 'on' to have a preview for known types when I hold my left mouse button down on the icon of a file. For instance, a *.txt file will popup a window with the start of the text. My question is, is it possible to always show the first bunch of bytes (say 1024 bytes or so) of any...
