Oh you don't need to do anything about the PortableApps format. People will just make a version using a wrapper for it to work with that platform. I'm just asking if it's alright for them to do that and redistribute it in a different way. I'm sure that when someone decided to do that, they will ask...

Wine has some DLLs but they are not on by default, had to turn on few to make it work.

I did use XY on Ubuntu several years ago out of curiosity. It worked for the most part, I could navigate and do searches but it was giving errors sometimes which Don narrowed it down to "short time" format. Haven't tried after that.
